Flax bedding is extremely cost-effective due to its outstanding absorbency. It absorbs significantly more moisture per cubic metre than most traditional beddings, meaning smaller quantities are needed to maintain a dry and hygienic environment. Soiled areas can be easily removed without disturbing the entire bed.
Made from natural flax shivers, this bedding is dust-extracted, contaminant-free, and biodegradable. Unlike wood-based products, it breaks down quickly and can be composted to create high-quality garden compost. The natural structure of the flax plant also helps lock in ammonia odours, resulting in noticeably fresher-smelling hutches and cages.
Flax bedding performs well all year round — staying warm and insulating in winter, yet cool and supportive in summer. For best results, it can be used underneath a top layer of chopped straw, barley straw, or hay.
